All American Colt Tops Adelaide MM Book Two

Media Release - Wednesday March 15
Former leading New Zealand trainer Jason Bridgman secured the top priced lot as the 2017 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale came to a close at Morphettille on Wednesday.

Bidding on the phone through Magic Millions agent Tim Brown, Bridgman was able to buy the day's feature lot, the All American-Statuette colt for $56,000.

The good looking colt was presented as part of the inaugural draft of John Mann's Tosca Farm at Angaston.

He is the first foal of an 1100 metre race winning daughter of champion sire Redoute's Choice who in turn is from the group winning Southern Halo mare Estatuilla.

Bridgman, the successful buyer, prepared the likes of King's Rose, Rock 'n' Pop and Warhorse as well as Magic Millions Yearling Sale purchase Costa Viva to win Group Ones and is now based at Pakenham in Victoria.

Other popular lots on the day included River Lodge Stud's Danerich-Let's Say Grace colt who sold to Rosemont Stud for $46,000 while the top selling filly honour was shared between daughters of Written Tycoon and Barbados at $40,000 to Shirley Prosser and Mark Minervini respectively.

Today's sale saw the average price for Book Two increase from $13,505 to $15,453 - the gross rounded out at $1.347 million and the clearance was 73 per cent.

"There was some great trade done today," Magic Millions Managing Director Vin Cox reported.

"A number of vendors were delighted with their results - many horses sold above expectation and the demand for quality continued right through the day."

"Overall the figures are in a line with last year, which recorded huge gains right across the board - so it's been a most pleasing sale," Cox added.
