One to Watch – Randwick

The Redoute’s Choice x Zabeel cross produced champion filly Samantha Miss and also our ‘One to Watch ‘ at Randwick on Wednesday, a first starter trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott.

Well primed for her debut following two recent trials, Cassadee was given a perfect ride by Tye Angland and raced just off the pace before powering clear to win the 1400 metre maiden by two and a quarter lengths.

Cassadee as a yearlingThe talented filly carries the colours of George Altomonte’s Corumbene Stud, but is not a homebred having been purchased at the Magic Millions from the Arrowfield Stud draft by Corumbene for $280,000.

She is a half-sister to stakes-placed Donelle and is the second winner from Avarice, a Zabeel three-quarter sister-in-blood to Group III winner Our Yangtze River from the family of Group I winners Riverina Charm, Benfica and Neroli.

Corumbene Stud will be selling at the Magic Millions next week, presenting a draft of 14 youngsters including the full brother to Golden Slipper winner Sebring.Click here to see them.
