The two-year-old filly by Exceed And Excel won her 800m jumpout at Flemington on Friday and David Hayes, who trains Oscietra in partnership with son Ben and Tom Dabernig, feels she is ready to go to the races.

"I think she's made really good improvement from her first (jumpout) to her second and Luke (Nolen) was very happy with her," Hayes said.

"The time was quite solid and her target is to run at Flemington on the first of January. We'll just baby sit her till then and hopefully she can do the right thing."

Hayes also had the option of starting Oscietra at Moonee Valley the night before but said the Super VOBIS Two-Year-Fillies Plate over 1000m at Flemington race made more appeal.

"Down the straight, against fillies should be ideal for her. She's got a lovely big action and her mother had her first start at Flemington down the straight so it could be a good omen," Hayes said.

"We'll see how she copes with Flemington - if everything goes right I'd like to back off her a little bit and then maybe run her in a Blue Diamond Prelude.

"With a filly of her pedigree, if she can get some black type in her first prep it would be terrific and add to her value immensely.

"Things come around pretty quickly - the Prelude is at the end of January so she might have a month between runs."
