Daily Debutants

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday September 13
The Daily Debutants list for Wednesday features two exceptionally bred fillies, one that did make $1million at the sales and one that would have if she had been offered.

Three year-old Fastnet Rock filly Lady Cartier makes her debut for the Brent Stanley stable in the second race at Mornington, a 1000 metre maiden for fillies that has drawn a strong field.

She won a recent jumpout at Ballarat and will be partnered by Damien Oliver.

Lady Cartier was a $1million Magic Millions purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for Cloud 9 Thoroughbreds/ CB Bloodstock and is a three-quarter sister-in-blood to unbeaten Group II winning filly Shoals.

She is the second foal of Ten Carat Rock, a half-sister to Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors that was bought from the Teeley Assets Dispersal for $750,000 by Newgate Farm.

At Canterbury in race three we see the long awaited debut of the first foal of champion mare More Joyous, a filly by Frankel called Woman.

Prepared by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, Woman has shown ability in four previous trials and the Strawberry Hill Stud homebred goes to the races well educated.
