There was plenty of action at the Rosehill trials on Wednesday morning with Group and Listed heats won by Nature Strip and Samadoubt, while star 3YO’s Peltzer and North Pacific also won trials and that’s before we even got to the two year-old heats of which there were six.
Superstar sprinters Nature Strip and Bivouac filled the quinella in Heat 1.
Group I winner Samadoubt looked strong beating star 3YO filly Hungry Heart with beaten brigade including Verry Elleegant, Collette and King’s Legacy.
A $165,000 Inglis Classic purchase from the Newgate Farm draft for Roll The Dice Racing Pty Ltd / Rogers Bloodstock, the Mick Price and Mick Kent trained colt was fast into stride and led all the way to win in the quickest time of all the juvenile heats.
His last 600m of 33.82 seconds was also the fastest as he was the only juvenile to clock under 34 seconds.
Newgate Farm sold the full sister to Profiteer at Magic Millions to Laurel Oak Bloodstock for $375,000, so they will no doubt be cheering this talented colt on to gain some Black Type in coming weeks.
