Chris Waller’s Magic Millions hero Shaquero ($15) is one of 210 colts while I Am Invincible (28 entries) is the leading sire followed by Snitzel (27) Not a Single Doubt (22) and first season sire Capitalist (21).

“We are very pleased with such a strong list of second acceptances which are up almost 20 per cent on the previous year,’’ Australian Turf Club Executive General Manager Racing and Wagering James Ross told RAcenet.

“There also appears to be some great depth in this year’s crop including Breeders Plate and Magic Millions winner Shaquero, Golden Gift winner Sneaky Five, Gimcrack Stakes winner Enthaar and Inglis Nursery Winner Acrobat some examples.

“It certainly sets the scene for an exciting series of pathway races over the coming months towards the ultimate prize in two year old racing.”

The Group III Widden Stakes and Group III Canonbury Stakes will be staged at Rosehill this weekend marking the start of the serious chase towards the Slipper.
