Another Foxwedge Favourite Salutes

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday October 18
The end of the flat season in GB/ Ireland is fast approaching and Newgate Farm's Foxwedge has risen to second on the leading first season sire list by winners following an overnight success at Windsor for short priced favourite Foxcatcher.

The Clive Cox trained filly improved at her first run in blinkers to win the five furlong maiden by two and a half lengths.

"This was a good opportunity for Foxcatcher to get the show on the road. Hopefully she will strengthen up over the winter and develop into a nice filly as a 3yo," said Clive Cox.

Foxcatcher is the 14th winner for Foxwedge in Great Britain / Ireland putting him second on the leading first crop sires list behind only Sir Prancealot with Frankel in third place.

Foxwedge stands this spring at a fee of $22,000.
