Star 3YO’s Chase Guineas Glory

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 5
Fields are out for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas (colts and geldings) and Thousand Guineas (fillies) to be run at Caulfield this weekend.

Newgate Farm's young sire Foxwedge will have the chance to post his first Group I winner with the Chris Waller filly Foxplay installed favourite, while last Saturday's Group I ATC Flight Stakes winner Global Glamour (Star Witness) is also an acceptor.

They will face plenty of opposition from the local fillies down south, while Kiwi entry La Luna Rossa, a daughter of boom sire Written Tycoon, could easily prove a knockout chance.

Godolphin will seek to extend their current winning run in the Caulfield Guineas with Lonhro colt Impending.

A last start winner of the Group II ATC Stan Fox Stakes, Impending will look to emulate the achievement of his sire, who won the race in 2001.

Impending is certainly bred for success in this race given his dam Mnemosyne won the Group I MRC Thousand Guineas in 2005.
