Shamardal Colt Tipped to Star

Tara Madgwick - Monday October 3
The Inglis Ready 2Race Sale will be held at Newmarket on Tuesday featuring a premium selection of up and running two year-olds with a superbly bred colt by globally renowned sire Shamardal (USA) tipped to attract keen interest.

Shamardal colt from ShaqiraConceived in the Northern Hemisphere and foaled in Australia, the colt from stakes-winning Redoute's Choice mare Shaquira (GB) will be offered as Lot 85 by Widden Stud.

He is the first foal of Shaqira, whose next two dams are stakes-winners, the family already having produced a Group II winner by Shamardal in brilliant sprinter miler Shakespearean.

Given the success of Shamardal in Hong Kong through his champion Australian bred son Able Friend and the rising star on the scene Pakistan Star, this colt is seen as being highly desirable by many parties.

"Pakistan Star is obviously the latest phenomenon in Hong Kong and Able Friend is still viewed by many as one of the world's best horses so it comes as no surprise that a Shamardal colt is going to gain the attention of many potential buyers," said Inglis Managing Director, Mark Webster.

"There are plenty of international clients here for the Inglis Ready2Race sale but as we know, Shamardal is very much a proven sire in Australia too so it will be interesting to see where the interest lies with not only that horse but all the Lots being offered.

"On the back of recent prizemoney increases in NSW, there really has never been a better time to get involved in racing."

The sale commences at 11 am. Click here for the catalogue.
