He won the Magic Millions 2YO Classic in 2016 before going on the be Champion 2YO and Capitalist has been doing big business in the sale ring this week at Magic Millions with a sensational filly from his second crop of yearlings selling for $720,000 on Friday.
Consigned by Newgate Farm, the half-sister to US stakes-winner Azul Coast from Group II winner Sky Treasure (USA) was the subject of a protracted bidding dual before eventually being knocked down to Nick Turnbull.
Bred by SF Bloodstock, the filly is a full sister to promising filly Williams Bay, who made $130,000 at Inglis Classic last year and is showing good ability in the Richard and Michael Freedman stable.
This glamour girl is the highest priced filly by Capitalist ever sold and is his second highest priced yearling at this sale behind only the colt from Golconda that made $975,000 to the bid of James Harron Bloodstock.
Capitalist has made a flying start to his stud career with four stakes horses and two metropolitan winners putting him at the top of the Australian First Season Sires List.
