New South Wales based Bowness Stud have a great reputation for breeding and selling top class performers which include current season stakes-winners Chapada and Indian Pacific as well as $1million earner Funstar, whose half-brother by Pierro is one of the stars of their 2021 Magic Millions draft.

Bowness Stud will offer 26 yearlings across Books 1 and 2, but when looking for a standout it’s impossible to go past the Pierro colt from Starspangled (IRE), who will be offered as Lot 831.

He is a half-brother to six winners headed by the Group I winning duo of Funstar and Youngstar, who were both sold as yearlings by Bowness Stud.

Funstar won the Group I ATC Flight Stakes at three and has been placed multiple times in other Group I races, while Youngstar won the Group I Queensland Oaks as well as placing in additional Group I races and she too has earned over $1million in prizemoney.

G1 winner Funstar has won over $1million in prizemoney.

G1 winner Youngstar won over $1million in prizemoney.

An imported Danehill daughter of European Champion 3YO User Friendly, Starspangled is also the dam of stakes-placed Eleven Seconds and Baggy Green, the dam of Group I ATC All Aged Stakes winner Tofane, so this is a world renowned family very much on the up.

Youngstar was bought by Katsumi Yoshida for $1.4million at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale earlier this year reinforcing the global regard in which this progressive family is held.

Yearling buyers looking for a serious horse with ‘sky’s the limit’ potential need look no further than this colt.
