Where Some Of The Top Mares Went in 2020

Mark Smith - Friday January 8

It has been widely reported that the great Winx will have a year off after her first foal was born dead.

The three-time Melbourne Cup heroine Makybe Diva was officially retired from stud duty last year with little fanfare after she produced her final foal, More Than Ready (USA) filly on November 9 in 2019.

The other great racemare of modern times Black Caviar was covered by Written Tycoon having missed to I Am Invincible in 2019.

Black Caviar’s first foal Oscietra was covered by Churchill (IRE) having foaled a colt by I Am Invincible. Black Caviar’s second foal Prince Of Caviar covered his first book of mares in 2020, and third foal Out Of Caviar was covered by Toronado (IRE) after foaling an I Am Invincible filly.
