Invincible Consolation for Toby Edmonds

Tara Madgwick - Sunday September 10
Toby Edmonds had to settle for third place in the Group II MVRC McEwen Stakes at Moonee Valley on Saturday with his flying I Am Invincible filly Houtzen, but would have gained some consolation with the impressive win of his I Am Invincible gelding Whypeeo at Doomben.

Sporting the Blue Sky Bloodstock colours, Whypeeo led throughout and thrashed his rivals to win the 1110 metre sprint by three lengths, his third win from just four starts with prizemoney now just shy of $100,000.

Whypeeo as a yearlingA $200,000 Magic Millions purchase for Blue Sky Bloodstock from the Yarraman Park draft, Whypeeo is a half-brother to Group II winner Meliora and is the sixth winner from six to race from terrific producer Sunset Boulevard.

Being Magic Millions eligible, connections are looking to build up prizemoney for Whypeeo with the rich Magic Millions race day in January a logical target for the speedy three year-old.
