Nicconi 2YO wins for Ingham Racing

Tara Madgwick - Saturday November 28

A homebred for Ingham Racing, promising two year-old Nicconi colt Conexy made amends for his debut defeat two weeks ago when scoring a dominant win at Doomben on Saturday to become the 50th winner for his sire this season.

Prepared by Chris Waller, Conexy was fitted with blinkers for this assignment and did everything right for Luke Dittman to lead throughout and win by half a length.

Conexy is the first winner for Group I placed Fastnet Rock mare Fast and Sexy, whose dam is a half-sister to stakes-winner Hillfa, the dam of stakes-winner Walk With Attitude.

Further back it’s a top class European female family that has given us champion sires Invincible Spirit and Kodiac as well as Australian dual Group I winner and sire Pride of Dubai.

Fast and Sexy was on-sold by the Ingham family at the 2019 Inglis Broodmare Sale where she was bought by Twin Hills Stud for $200,000.

She has a yearling colt by No Nay Never (USA) that will be offered by Twin Hills as Lot 602 at Inglis Classic and a filly foal by Capitalist.

Nicconi

Conexy is another promising winner for Widden Stud’s ever reliable Nicconi and is his 50th of the season.
