Watch Me Dance Leads Home a 1-2 for I'M All The Talk in the WA Guineas

Mark Smith - Saturday November 21

Seven days after claiming the Group III WA Champion Fillies Stakes, Watch Me Dance emulated the deeds of Arcadia Queen when she led home a 1-2 for I’m All The Talk in Saturday’s $500,000 Group II Sky Racing-W.A. Guineas (1600m) at Ascot.

Ridden by Shaun McGruddy for trainer Steve Wolfe, Watch Me Dance sat close to the speed set by Em Tee Aye before wrestling the lead from that game daughter of I’m All The Talk in the final 100 metres to win by a neck.

The favoured Shooting To Win filly Dom To Shoot motored home in the closing stages to be a further half-length back in third.

The winner of the Group III WA Sires' Produce (1400m) last season at two, Watch Me Dance advances her record to five two three from 11 starts with earnings of $793,450 for her large all ladies’ syndicate.

“The horse is incredible, the jockey is incredible, the owners are incredible, and the old trainer is not too bad, Wolfe said.

“What a filly. Truly the best in the state.

“It is wonderful for these girls.”

Purchased by Commercial Bloodstock Services for $34,0000 at the 2019 Magic Millons Perth Yearling Sale, Watch Me Dance is the best of two winners from three to race out of the stakes-placed Oratorio mare Coventry To Rio who was herself a $30,000 purchase by Neville Parnham at the 2011 Magic Million Perth Yearling Sale.

Watch Me Dance was a $34,000 Perth Magic Millions yearling

Commercial Bloodstock shelled out $60,000 to purchase a full-brother to Watch Me Dance out of the Mungrup Stud draft at this year’s Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale. He has been named Hear Me Sing and was sent to Wolfe to train for another all ladies syndicate.

After foaling a colt by the Tapit stallion A Lot last spring, Coventry To Rio was covered by Playing God and produced a filly September 22.

A son of Stratum, I’m All The Talk stood at Mungrup Stud for a fee of $5,500 in 2019 but moved to Darling view Thoroughbred in 2020 where his fee has been set at $6,600.
