There was just one heat for two year-olds at Warwick Farm on Friday morning and it was won by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott with a son of their Golden Slipper winner Vancouver.
A big strong colt having his second trial after finishing fourth at the same venue on October 9, Powder Day travelled deep and came from off the pace to surge home and win by more than a length under his own steam.

Powder Day runs for his breeder Jonathan Munz in partnership with Gai Waterhouse and is a half-brother to two winners from well bred Encosta de Lago mare Stella Grace, a sibling to Group II winner Shania Dane and stakes-winners Scintillation and Risk Aversion.
The family has also produced Group I winner Summer Passage and Group II winner Man From Uncle.
