Group I racing starts tonight at Moonee Valley with the MVRC Manikato Stakes (1200m) and for the two stallions engaged to run the race could well be a game changer.
The Spendthrift Australia colours will be carried by gorgeous Written Tycoon stallion Dirty Work, who has turned a corner this preparation under the care of Team Hawkes to record a career best win last start in the Group II MRC Schillaci Stakes.

His previous two starts were behind Everest winner Classique Legend and Everest place-getter Gytrash, so Dirty Work has great form for this race
An $800,000 Inglis Easter purchase, Dirty Work ticks a lot of boxes as a stallion prospect and a G1 win would be the icing on the cake.
The other stallion engaged is Geoff and Mary Grimish’s homebred Splintex, a Group II winner last season at three, who has been very competitive in the exact same last three races as Dirty Work albeit finishing behind him.
By champion sprinter Snitzel from a solid Black Type family, Splintex will also be looking to secure a future at stud with a Group I win.
