Tapit Service Fee Reduced

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday October 21

Champion North American sire Tapit has had his fee reduced for 2021.

Gainesway has continued the trend seen by other US studs in recent days by dropping the fee for its three-time champion sire.

Tapit

North America’s leading stallion by lifetime graded stakes winners, Grade 1 winners, progeny earnings ($159,714,395) and a renowned sire of sires, Tapit will stand for $185,000 in 2021, down from $200,000 this year.

"It has always been Gainesway’s goal to provide breeders with quality and value. The current economic climate that breeders are facing makes this more important than ever," said Gainesway CEO Antony Beck.

"Our stallion roster offers a diverse group of established stallions and exciting young studs who look to establish a new era at Gainesway."

Turning 20 next year, Tapit has had just 20 runners in Australia for 10 winners headed by this season’s Group III winner Love Tap and has also made his presence felt here as a broodmare sire with his imported daughter Zighy Bay (USA) leaving Not a Single Doubt’s Group I SA Derby winner Qafila.
