The Cornish family have been going through a rejuvenation period at Torryburn Stud with a reduction of some lesser performing mares and the acquisition of a selection new top quality mares including New Zealand bred Group II winner Serena Miss.
A daughter of red hot Kiwi sire Iffraaj (GB), who has given us Australian Group I winners Jon Snow and Gingernuts this season, Serena Miss was purchased from the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale last year on the advice of Belmont Bloodstock for $700,000.
Sent to Arrowfield Stud's superstar sire Snitzel, she produced this lovely filly earlier this week.
"The filly is a few days early, but is strong, correct and doing really well," said Melanie Sunderland, the Marketing and Client Relations Manager at Torryburn.
"It's really exciting to have foals due this year out of the well-bred mares that were purchased at Magic Millions last year, so the farm is set to go from strength to strength."
New mares aside, Torryburn already have a great track record for success with the following current season stakes performers all emerging from the Torryburn nursery headed by the mighty Group I winning sprinter Terravista, who has won over $2.4 million in prizemoney
Other Torryburn stars include Group II winners Deploy, Dixie Blossoms and Jessy Belle, Group III winners Diddums and Dreams Aplenty as well as stakes-winner Transporter.
Also making their mark Harpers Choice, who was second in the Group I ATC Australian Derby and stakes-placed The Pinnacle, unbeaten Hot King Prawn in Hong Kong and impressive first start Singapore winner Ferocious, who runs again tonight.
