Flemington Stakes-Winner for Deep Field

Tara Madgwick - Saturday October 3

Talented Deep Field gelding Riddle Me That closed out his three year-old season with a win in the Listed Bendigo Guineas and hit top form at his third run back from a spell to take out the Listed VRC Paris Lane Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on Saturday.

Trained by Matt Laurie and ridden by Daniel Stackhouse, he hit the line hard with a well timed run to win by a long head making amends for a disappointing effort at his previous start.

“I don’t know what happened last start, I put a tongue tie on him today and hoped for the best!” said Matt Laurie.

“He’s always been very honest and consistent in his career, so we chose to press on and I’m glad we did.”

Retained to race by his breeder, Riddle Me That has the overall record of five wins and four placings from 13 starts with prizemoney in excess of $290,000.

Riddle Me That is the first stakes-winner among nine winners from good producing Group III winner Justine Coup, a grand-daughter of Group I winner Royal Regatta by Entrepreneur (GB).
