Juvenile Winner for Hinchinbrook

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday September 29
Reigning Champion Australian First Season Sire Hinchinbrook featured at Armidale on Tuesday when his speedy two year-old daughter Miss Amajardan scored an easy victory in the $17,000 Romantic Dream Plate, the first country race for two year-olds of the season.

HinchinbrookTrained by Jenny Graham at Port Macquarie and ridden by her daughter Melinda, Miss Amajardan was a short priced favourite and ran accordingly from barrier one to bound clear and win the 1000 metre scamper by three and a half lengths.

A bargain $6,500 Inglis Scone Yearling Sale purchase for owners Dale Miller from the draft of Glastonbury Farm, Miss Amajardan is the first winner for minor winning Encosta de Lago mare Jahre, a grand-daughter of Group III winner and star producer Procrastinate.

The dam of five stakes-winners headed by Group I winner Laisserfaire, Procrastinate has spawned an impressive little Black Type dynasty so Miss Amajardan has quite a bit of pedigree to back her up despite the modest yearling price!

A three-quarter brother by Fastnet Rock to Snitzel, Hinchinbrook has made a sensational start to his stud career for Yarraman Park and his star colt Press Statement is favourite for the Group I MRC Caulfield Guineas next month.
