Fastnet Filly Wins by Five

Tara Madgwick - Wednesday August 12
Sent out a short priced favourite by Peter and Paul Snowden at Canterbury on Wednesday, promising Fastnet Rock filly Serene Majesty looked a stakes-winner in the making as she zoomed away to win by more than five lengths.

An easy trial winner at Rosehill on August 4, Serene Majesty looked every bit as good on raceday.

Serene Majesty as a yearlingShe jumped straight to the front from a wide gate for Blake Shinn and cruised away down the running to win as she pleased, making amends for her only previous run when narrowly beaten at the same venue back in April.

"It's good to see her do it," said Peter Snowden.

"She relaxed well and gave a good kick to the finish.

"We'll be aiming her at the Group fillies races and I think she'll get seven furlongs and probably a mile."

A $400,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Kitchwin Hills from the Segenhoe Stud draft, Serene Majesty runs for a syndicate that includes many of the Black Caviar owners such as Neil Werrett.

She was bred by Segenhoe and is from stakes-winning Lonhro mare Custard from the family of speedy stakes-winners such as Fravashi, Pure Joy and Russian Caravan.

Custard has a yearling colt by All Too Hard and is due to foal to Medaglia D'Oro (USA).
