The Gerry Ryan-owned Normandy Bridge made the best possible start to his career his career with a dominant win in the Prix de Fontenoy at Longchamp on Thursday, the race that kick-started the careers of Waldgeist, Victor Ludorum and Maxios.

Trained by Stephanie Nigge, the bold-striding 2yo son of Le Havre took the lead shortly after the start to defeat the favoured Gleneagles colt Baby Rider by one and three-quarter lengths with Easter, a son of Exosphere, a further two lengths back in third

Normandy Bridge was bought for €80,000 by bloodstock agent John Foote out of the Haras du Mézeray draft at the 2019 Arqana October Yearling Sale.

He is the twelfth foal out of the Moussac family’s Group III Prix Fille de l'Air winner Aiglonne (Silver Hawk), winner of the Group III Prix Fille de l'Air.

Aiglonne has three stakes winners to her name already led by the Group 1 Prix d'Ispahan hero Mekhtaal (Sea The Stars) and the Group II Prix Hocquart winner Democrate (Dalakhani).
