Welcome to the 2020 breeding season, we wanted to remind breeders and owners about registering for Racing NSW Breeder Owner Bonus Scheme (BOBS). 

Since 2003, the average racing season is paying out over $13 million in Cash bonuses, Double Up vouchers and Mare bonuses, bringing the total since the scheme’s inception to over $140 million.


BOBS MARE BONUS

Massive new BOBS Bonus to the Mares Registered Breeder whose progeny wins a BOBS Bonus.

Racing NSW have financed a further $1 million per annum to BOBS, altering for a three-year trial to pay $2 million of bonuses to the registered breeder of mares breeding to BOBS eligible stallions.

BOBS SILVER and EXTRA 
2020 nominations close on September 1, 2020 (late fees apply).

Horses foaled in 2018 that turned 2YO on August 1, 2020 are due to be nominated, to be eligible the stallion must have been nominated for BOBS and have stood in NSW the year it served the mare (2017) (Stallions List).

Owners are required to nominate the horse for a fee of $990 (Download Form). The BOBS registered bonus is up to $22,500 for each win on NSW tracks (except Group and some Listed races) during the 2YO and 3YO racing career. Owners can also opt to nominate for BOBS Extra which extends BOBS bonus payments to 4YO racehorses over a staying distance of 1800m and beyond. 

To be eligible for BOBS a racehorse must be sired by an NSW-based stallion for which the stallion nomination fee has been paid. That stallion’s progeny may then be advertised or sold as weanlings or yearlings as BOBS eligible (Terms and Conditions).

BOBS DOUBLE-UPS (SALES OR SERVICE FEES VOUCHER)

A winning owner can choose to take the winning cash bonus, or elect to earn twice the value with a Double-Up Voucher. Vouchers (Download Form) can then be used to purchase a BOBS eligible horse or used for stallion service fee payments for participating NSW based stallions. (Stallions List).

More than $37 million dollars has been put back into the NSW breeding industry through the Double-Up scheme since its conception.
