Super One Filly Another Prime Success Story

Tara Madgwick - Saturday August 1

Joe O’Neill of Prime Thoroughbreds has a happy knack for finding quality fillies for not a lot of money and he’s got another one in the shape of Super One filly Miss Divine Em, who scored a  thrilling victory at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

Trained by Patrick Payne, as is the Prime Thoroughbreds stable star Rubisaki, Miss Divine Em broke her maiden at Donald in June, then won again at Murtoa on July 13 and then upped the ante considerably in taking on an open three year-old fillies event over 1000m.

She rose to the challenge for Billy Egan, producing her best effort over the last 100m to snatch a narrow head win in a blanket finish.

A $42,500 purchase by Prime Thoroughbreds out of the Newgate Farm draft at the 2018 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale, Miss Divine Em has won three of four starts earning a whisker shy of $100,000.

Prime Thoroughbreds were back investing at the Magic Millions Weaning Sale this week securing fillies by first season sires Russian Revolution and Pariah for $60,000 and $30,000.

Bred by Newgate Operations, Miss Divine Em is the third winner from as many to race out of the Brisbane winning Statue Of Liberty (USA) mare Manhattan Angel, who hails from the family of Group I Cox Plate place-getter Northern Drake.

Manhattan Angel was covered again by Super One last spring.
