This Caulfield winner was too impressive not to blackbook this week. Photo: Darryl Sherer

All you have to do is use Racenet's free blackbook service and we will email you when any of these horses are due to race.

Did you back something which was a good thing beaten? Or maybe just turned in an eye-catching run?

Come on, share it with the rest of us, through the 'comments' section below.

RANDWICK – Greg Polson

CHAMPAGNE CUDDLES – There is little doubt the outside gate cost the Bjorn Baker-trained Champagne Cuddles victory in the Furious Stakes at Randwick on Saturday. Champagne Cuddles drew barrier seven in a field of seven with Tye Angland easing the filly early in an attempt to find cover but was forced to go back to the rear. The filly was switched to the outside straightening and ran home strongly recording 32.77 seconds for the last 600m – approximately five-lengths quicker than any other runner in the race. Champagne Cuddles has finished runner-up both runs back this preparation hitting the line strongly on each occasion, in a manner that suggests she is ready for 1400m which she gets in the Group II Tea Rose at Randwick on September 16. Even this far out Champagne Cuddles looks close to a good thing. Career statistics (4:2-1-1).

CAULFIELD – Cameron Happ

MR SNEAKY – We usually go looking for something behind the winners to blackbook but the whole objective is to find future winners and this son of High Chaparral is set for a huge Spring the way he returned on Saturday. He eased back beyond midfield early, got all the breaks saving ground around the turn but the way he let down to easily put away a smart horse like Theanswermyfriend over the last 100m was that of a horse that can go onto something much better as he steps out to slightly longer trips. He was unwanted in the betting easing from $6 all the way out to $9 which suggests he’s got good improvement to come and forget the second-up record, both losses were in unsuitable races. If you weren’t on him Saturday, jump on now and follow him right throughout the carnival. Career statistics (12:3-0-2).

DOOMBEN – Graeme Carey

AHNDRAS – Was second-up and had support in a Class 3 over 1615m. She got away fairly and Jeff Lloyd elected to take cover and settled just worse than midfield tracking the eventual winner Rancho Montaya to the home turn and into the straight. He shifted out but the mare began to hang in and it was only late that she straightened up and was making good ground at the finish to go down by half a length. She will take improvement from the outing and is quite capable of working her way through the classes as well as being competitive in any races restricted to her own sex. Career statistics (8:3-2-0).

MORPHETTVILLE – Heath Pope

SPLIT LIP – This Will Clarken-trained filly gave every indication she had returned as well as ever when resuming against the older horses with an excellent start to her spring campaign on Saturday. She conceded all of her rivals an impossible break before charging home late to just miss the placings. Her closings sectionals were impressive, producing clearly the fastest in the race and only marginally second best of the day behind Group I weight-for-age winner Gailo Chop. It certainly won’t shock to see this filly go to a new level this spring and she is nominated in both the Thousand Guineas and Caulfield Classic in Melbourne next month. Career statistics (6:2-0-2).

BELMONT – Aaron Mills

DANEHILLS DAUGHTER – With other Kalgoorlie Cup contenders falling by the wayside here's one that can sneak in as a live chance down in the weights. Steven Rowe's progressive mare made it four wins on the trot despite rising in grade and is sure to strip fitter for that outing, her first in six weeks. Expected to go around again at Belmont in two weeks' time before heading to the Goldfields for the big one and can be followed with plenty of confidence in both of those races. Career record (13:5-1-2).
