One to Watch – Kembla

Kerrin McEvoy had only one ride at Kembla on Thursday, but this talented three year-old made his effort worth the while when he bolted in by four and a half lengths.

Trained by Matthew Dunn and sporting the colours of Grahame and Linda Huddy’s Peachester Lodge, Fastnet Rock gelding Stormy Rock was a hot favourite for the 1200m maiden.

Fourth on debut at Newcastle last month and then second beaten a nose at Warwick Farm, Stormy Rock showed the benefit of race experience this time, doing everything right to travel on the pace before powering clear to win as he pleased.
