Spill The Beans Extends His Lead

Mark Smith - Tuesday June 16

Aquis Farm’s ill-fated Spill The Beans continues to set the pace as the leading first crop sire for number of winners with the Tony and Maddysen Sears-trained Little Miss Pixie taking the seasonal tally of the son of Snitzel seasonal to 11 at Clifford Park Toowoomba on Tuesday.

Making her third trip to the races in this 1100 metres contest, following a first-up second at Gatton nd a fourth at the Sunshine Coast,Little Miss Pixie took the gap between the leaders Five Oxford and Dragon Miss in the straight to win by a neck over Dragon Miss (Hidden Dragon) with Five Oxford (Golden Archer) one and a half lengths back in third.

The homebred daughter of Spill The Beans is the first and only foal of the hard-knocking Lucky Unicorn mare Pixie Miss whose dam Astral Wind (Spinning World) is a half-sister to Group III Port Adelaide Cup winner Vestey (Last Tycoon) and Listed Gosford Classic winner Rutherford Eagle (Favourite Trick).

Group II BRC QTC Cup winner Spill The Beans covered for four big books of mares at Aquis Farm in Queensland before his sudden death in November 2019.
