Juvenile Trial Watch – Warwick Farm

Tara Madgwick - Tuesday June 2

Just three heats for juveniles at Warwick Farm this morning but an interesting winner carrying the colours of her breeder and part-owner Kia Ora Stud.

By Exceed and Excel from Group II winner Se Sauveur, the Mark Newnham trained filly Escape Artist won her only previous trial on the synthetic track last month and looked just as comfortable on grass.

She mustered speed for Sam Clipperton to take the lead and when pushed along at the finish by Godolphin runner Radiance (Medaglia D’ Oro) found enough to win by a long neck with some five lengths back to the next horses.

Escape Artist as a yearling

A $525,000 Inglis Easter purchase for Jadeskye Racing / B Widdup from the Kia Ora draft, Escape Artist runs for a syndicate that includes Kia Ora along with Rob McLure, Neil Werrett and Steve McCann.

She is the third foal of Se Sauveur, whose previous two foals are both winners.

A half-sister to Group I SA Derby winner Escado, Se Sauveur has a weanling filly by Snitzel and is in foal to The Autumn Sun.
