Pierro already has a Hong Kong Derby winner in Furore on his resume and hopefully will have another with news his dual Group I winning three year-old Shadow Hero has been sold to Hong Kong and will be trained by David Hayes.

Shadow Hero has been sold to Hong KongThe Mark Newnham trained Shadow Hero has won over $1.5million in prizemoney here with highlight wins in the Group I ATC Spring Champion Stakes and ATC Randwick Guineas.

The sale was confirmed on Monday evening for a reported sum of $3.2million, a great result for a horse bought from the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale by his owners Sweetbriar Equine for $260,000.

His departure adds to the loss of other high class three year-olds from Australian racing with the likes of Castelvecchio, Microphone, Exceedance, Yes Yes Yes, Alabama Express and Super Seth all retiring to the breeding barn.
