There were four mares that sold for seven figures at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale with Queensland Oaks winner Youngstar the last to be knocked down fetching $1.4 million to the bid of Japanese breeder Katsumi Yoshida.
A $1million earner that was consigned for this sale by Middlebrook Valley Lodge, Youngstar has the performance, but also the pedigree as she is a half-sister by champion sire High Chaparral (IRE) to this season’s Group I ATC Flight Stakes winner Funstar and also to the dam of this season’s Group I ATC All Aged Stakes winner Tofane.
Youngstar was bought as a yearling at Inglis Premier by Anton Koolman Bloodstock for $200,000, so has proven a fabulous investment for her owners who include Arthur and Charlotte Inglis.
