$750,000 for First Mare Offered in Foal to Trapeze Artist

Widden Stud had the honour of offering the first mare in foal to their exciting young sire Trapeze Artist and Samara Dancer (NZ) proved a popular commodity, secured by Victorian based Sheamus Mills Bloodstock/ Longwood Thoroughbred Farm for $750,000.

Winner of the Group II MRC Blue Diamond Prelude, Samara Dancer is a half-sister by Hinchinbrook to Group III winner Éclair Big Bang from a solid Black Type family.

Her first two seasons at stud have produced a colt and filly by I Am Invincible and she was offered in foal to Snitzel’s champion  son Trapeze Artist, who was Australia’s busiest first season sire last year covering 180 mares at a fee of $88,000.

His fee for 2020 is $77,000.

Widden Stud were quick to step into the market as a buyer securing Lot 10, She’s a Wildcat, the full sister to Group I winner Foxwedge for $230,000.

She was offered in foal to Flying Artie as part of the Luskin Park Dispersal and had a major pedigree update as her two year-old Untamed (colt by Pierro) is now a stakes-winner of the Listed ATC Fernhill Handicap.
