Oaklands Stud Fees for 2020

Media Release - Tuesday May 5

We are excited to confirm that our two resident stallions, Power (IRE) and Neorealism (Jpn), will again serve at Oaklands Stud for the 2020 season.

Their service fees will also remain unchanged as Oaklands remains committed to offering these outstanding stallions at competitive pricing.

“The Oaklands roster for 2020 provides arguably the most credentialled racehorses to ever stand in QLD. International superstars on the track, the highly promising young sires provide a terrific blend of pure power and speed with athleticism and stamina. We believe both stallions are particularly well suited to the Australian and specifically the QLD breeding landscape,” commented Stud Principal, Neville Stewart.

Alistair Stewart, Stud Co-Principal, stated, “We have been delighted with how well the progeny of Power have continued to perform on the track and with the support that Neorealism continues to receive, however we remain aware that these are challenging times for everyone. As such, we have priced our stallions with the view to offering value to breeders, many of whom are returning clients. We are also very conscious to leave good margin for breeders, and we want to see them do well selling and racing Oaklands stallions. That equates to return business over the long term.”

POWER          (Oasis Dream – Frappe)

2020 Fees:        $11,000 (inc GST)

Power

European Classic winner and proven stakes sire Power, was an outstanding racehorse with five wins, including two at Group One level, from just nine starts before being retired to stud.

Power was a high class two-year-old with wins in the Group One National Stakes at the Curragh and Group Two Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot among his early accomplishments.

The quality colt trained on at three to win the Group One Irish Two Thousand Guineas in a brilliant performance – coming with a surging late run under Joseph O’Brien to win easily.

POWER was a Speed machine as a Racehorse and is a big, powerful and imposing horse, being the son of European Champion sprinter OASIS DREAM. He has the pedigree, looks, race record and already proven stud credentials to produce up and running juveniles that run-on with maturity.

NEOREALISM           (Neo Universe – Tokio Reality)

2020 Fees:                    $9,900 (inc GST)

Neorealism

Japanese-bred and trained Hong Kong Group 1 winner Neorealism will stand at Oaklands again after being well received in his first season at stud.

A Group 1 winner by leading son of legendary Sunday Silence from one of Japan’s best families, Neorealism is a three-quarter brother to dual hemisphere group 1-winning stallion Real Impact, a son of Deep Impact who has shuttled to Arrowfield Stud.

Both Real Impact and Neorealism, as well as two other stakes performers, are from the top producing Meadowlake mare Tokio Reality.

Neorealism, who won eight of his 23 starts and over in AU$5.5M in prizemoney, offers breeders access to an outcross sire-line that will suit Australia's colonial pedigrees.

When commenting on his physical attributes, Stewart added, “He is a very majestic and well-balanced stallion, typical of a sprinter-miler. Neorealsim has enough substance in his pedigree to suggest that his progeny will perform at 2 and train on as 3 and 4-year-olds. I am sure this will attract a lot of breeders in particular QLD breeders”.
