Newgate Announce Reduced 2020 Fees

Media Release - Monday May 4

Newgate are delighted to announce their 2020 stallion lineup which will include three new highly commercial sires in Brutal, Cosmic Force, and Tassort.

The Newgate roster is headed by one of Australia’s leading young sires in Deep Field who has taken all before him in his short stud career to date, being the leading sire of his generation by both winners and stakes-horses.  If the commercial market is any indication to his future success, his stock will continue to be at the forefront of Australian racing in the seasons ahead.

Deep Field heads the roster at $55,000

Deep Field will stand at a fee of $55,000 including GST.

At Newgate we are big believers in selecting future stallions that rated at an elite level on the racetrack.  All three of our new sires showed the immense natural talent we value, coupled with excellent pedigrees and outstanding physical confirmation.   Brutal was a highly credentialled racehorse having won the Group 1 Doncaster in fewer starts than any horse in history, while also having elite form at WFA level against the best horses in the land.

G1 Doncaster Handicap winner Brutal is an exciting addition at $27,500

Brutal will stand at a fee of $27,500 including GST.

Cosmic Force was a horse of extraordinary natural talent having started Golden Slipper favourite after winning the Group 3 Pago Pago by over 7L.  He came back at three to smash the race record in the stallion-making Group 2 Roman Consul Stakes.  Cosmic Force retires with very similar credentials to his own sire Deep Field.  Cosmic Force will stand at a fee of $16,500 including GST.

Tassort is one of the best-bred young stallions to enter stud in Australia this season.  He showed phenomenal talent, running blistering time over the Rosehill 1100m in the Golden Gift, winning by a record margin.  He will be heavily supported by both Newgate and co-owner Emirates Park which will be sending him some of their best broodmares.  Tassort will stand at a fee of $11,000 including GST.  A limited number of Breeding Rights are available for purchase.

Russian Revolution’s first foals are the talk of the Hunter Valley and based on the huge number of breeders who have made return inquiries, he will certainly breed another robust book of mares at a reduced fee of $44,000 including GST.  Champion sire Snitzel’s highly talented son Menari, who has also had very pleasing first foals, will stand at a fee of $16,500 including GST with limited outside bookings available.

There is much anticipation surrounding our four young sires who will have their first runners later this year.  Capitalist will stand at a fee of $44,000 including GST, Extreme Choice will stand at a fee of $22,000 including GST, while Flying Artie and Winning Rupert will both stand at $16,500 including GST.  All these young sires have had a wonderful representation at the yearling sales and many of their progeny have gone to the leading stables in Australasia.  This quartet all have the ingredients to be leading sires in the years ahead.

Rounding off our roster are Dissident, Wandjina, and Super One all standing at fees of $11,000 including GST.  All three sires have shown promising signs with their runners to date and with a significant number of runners still to come we expect they will make their mark in the years ahead.
