The roster of stallions standing at Woodside Park Stud in 2020 includes G1 winning and G1 producing sire, Foxwedge, Tosen Stardom, a dual G1 winning son of world Champion sire Deep Impact plus Invincible Spirit’s highest rated two-year-old, Cable Bay and Written Tycoon’s fastest son at stud, Rich Enuff.
Each stallion will have a reduction in fees to aid in supporting breeders in Victoria during these unprecedented times. With up to 40% of breeders considered hobby breeders, we’re focused on their needs, as without the continued support of broodmare owners, stallion farms such as Woodside Park Stud would be futile.
WRITTEN TYCOON (Standing at Arrowfield Stud 2020)
$110,000 (2019) $77,000 (2020) – 30%
TOSEN STARDOM
$19,250 (2019) $12,100 (2020) – 37%
FOXWEDGE
$16,500 (2019) $11,000 (2020) – 33%
CABLE BAY
$13,200 (2019) $9,900 (2020) – 25%
RICH ENUFF
$12,100 (2019) $8,800 (2020) – 27%
While we understand that these fees are not a true indication of the quality of the stallions themselves, 2020 is a year where the support of everyone within the industry is essential.
Set to cover his third book of mares this season, Tosen Stardom is the only dual Group 1-winning son of the legendary Deep Impact at stud in Australia and with his first crop foals receiving rave reviews due to their exceptional conformation, the outstanding level of support is bound to continue.
Recording an impressive array of 11 stakes performers so far this season highlighted by the Group 2-winning juvenile Lunar Fox, Foxwedge’s first Victorian book of mares has seen support from breeders Australia wide.
Second only to Written Tycoon on stakes performers for a Victorian-based sire, Foxwedge’s relocation to Woodside Park Stud has given breeders an outstanding opportunity to access a Group 1 producing son of Champion Sire Fastnet Rock.
“The decision to secure Foxwedge to stand his first season at Victoria last year was one, in retrospect, that we are clearly thrilled by based on the tremendous support he has received from breeders and exceptional season his proven progeny continue to have.”
As the Champion First Season Sire in the United Kingdom and Ireland on black type performers and prizemoney, Cable Bay’s first Australian crop have been very well-received in the sales ring, selling up to $210,000 and have gone into the leading stables of Danny O’Brien, Anthony Freedman, Mick Price, Ciaron Maher, Robbie Griffiths and Archie Alexander.
As a G1-performing juvenile, Cable Bay has the right credentials to follow in the footsteps of fellow sons of Invincible Spirit at stud in Australia and establish himself as a leading sire in the years to come.
From just 13 first-crop runners, Written Tycoon’s Group 2-winning son Rich Enuff has already recorded four individual winners and an additional five placed performers, clearly showing breeders the precious nature of his stock.
The team at Woodside Park Stud are always here to support our breeders and all industry participants, so please contact the office should you have any questions or concerns.
