Two Trevor Sutherland-trained gallopers dominate betting for the sixth race at Narrandera on Sunday but there are two runners in the race at good odds that can spoil the party.
Benno's Boy ($4) has a narrow call over the stablemate Hangin' With Willy ($4.20) with both rating as chances in the race but are likely to go around well under the odds.
Benno's Boy has to shoulder 63.5kg and although unbeaten in two runs over the 1200m at Narrandera will be back in distance on his recent outings and as an on-pace runner will have plenty of company up front on Sunday.
Hangin' With Willy is also back in distance and whilst he will relish the expected solid pace is likely to settle at the back of the field and may be giving away too much start.
The Ron Steiner-trained Miss Farloo ($8.50) and Saint Aquilina ($8) from the Ross Purcell stable represent better value for punters.
Miss Farloo ran second to Benno's Boy over the track and distance on June 2 and although the winning margin was over three-lengths the 5.5kg weight turnaround narrows the gap between the two considerably which the early betting doesn't reflect.
Saint Aquilina doesn't win out of turn with four wins from 41 career starts but the mare is a winner over the Narrandera 1200m and gets all the favours in running launching from the inside gate.
Investing a $12 stake on Miss Farloo and a $13 bet on Saint Aquilina for a $100 return will provide a $4 dividend whichever wins and that looks a better bet than either of the Sutherland runners one out.
