Zoustar Rules Premier First Season Sires

The 2017 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale produced strong results for Northern Meteor's dual Group I winning son Zoustar, who splits his time between Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley and Woodside Park in Victoria.



Zoustar had 14 yearlings average $150,000 in Session I, his top seller a lovely chestnut filly from Group III winner Fuddle Dee Duddle that made $360,000 for Rosemont Stud when snapped up by South African buyers Craig Roscoe/ Brett Crawford.



That was also the highest price achieved by any first season sire at this sale.

Zoustar had his first season at Widden, then a year at Woodside before returning to Widden last year and is headed back to Victoria this spring.

Camelot colt from Miss With AttitudeCoolmore's Epsom Derby winner Camelot (GB) only had one season here in Australia but made a real impression at this sale with eight youngsters averaging $122,250.

The champion son of Montjeu had his best result with a colt from Miss With Attitude that made $280,000 for Mill Park when purchased by Heywood Bloodstock/ Mayfair Speculators of South Africa.

Arrowfield's Dundeel and Darley's Epaulette were solid at this sale as they have been right through the sales season.

Victorian based first season sires all had their moments to shine with Fiorente (IRE), Fighting Sun, Unencumbered and War all having yearlings sell for $150,000 or more.
