Winless for almost two years, the horse that defeated the likes of Anamoe, Jigsaw, Kallos, Extreme Warrior and Hitotsu in the 2021 Blue Diamond Prelude gets his chance to break back into the winner's circle in Saturday's Group III Aurie's Star Hcp (1200m) at Flemington.

The decision whether General Beau lines up in the Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes does not seem any closer to resolution after the strapping son of Brazen Beau scored a heart-stopping win in Saturday’s Group II Neds Blue Diamond Prelude (1100m) for colts and geldings at Caulfield.   

General Beau was a menacing figure in the parade ring with his commanding physical presence before proving every bit as dominant on the track in Saturday’s Listed Neds Blue Diamond Preview (1000m) for colts and geldings.
