Stakes Goal Next for Vancouver Winner

Tara Madgwick - Sunday April 5

Talented Vancouver colt Postcode opened his account with a dominant victory at Hawkesbury on Saturday and will return to Black Type racing for his next start.

Second on debut in the Group III ATC Breeders Plate at the start of last spring, Postcode had been competitive without placing in his two most recent runs in Golden Slipper lead up races won by top colts Mamaragan and Prague.

Vancouver is the sire of PostcodeDropped back in grade to maiden class for this 1300m assignment, the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained colt showed his class under 62kg to bolt away and win by three and a half lengths.

With that confidence boosting win under his belt, Postcode will no doubt be placed to advantage in longer Black Type races in the future with the Listed Fernhill Handicap at Randwick next Saturday a likley target.

A $240,000 Magic Millions purchase for his trainers from the Glenlogan Park draft, Postcode is the second winner from French Group II winner Never Forget.

He is the third winner for Coolmore's Golden Slipper winner Vancouver, who has eight entries for Inglis Easter and you can see them here.
