Gooree Stud Open the Doors

Media Release - Wednesday March 18

Famed Mudgee thoroughbred nursery, Gooree Park Stud, has embarked on a major strategic change in direction of their business model whereby they will move from being primarily a private Racing and Breeding operation to opening their gates commercially for the first time in 30 years.

As a result of this change a unique opportunity for Breeders and Trainers has become available to the industry.

Gooree Park Stud is guided by its Principal Mr Eduardo M Cojuangco Jr. (who was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame in 2015 ), who is widely renowned as being one of the great breeders in the Southern Hemisphere for the past 40 years.

He has successfully bred a number of stakes-winners over many years and has an excellent record at producing stallions of the likes of Northern Meteor, Smart Missile, Your Song, Hallowed Crown, Prized Icon and Needs Further.

Gooree's famed Red and Black Stripes are synonymous with tough and sound horses, a characteristic of what the Gooree farm land and paddocks produce due to its tough and undulating terrain .

Gooree Stud is moving to being a commercial enterprise rather than a private oneMoreover, with horses being able to be taken from conception to sales and racing without leaving the farm , the breeding side of the Stud offers all the usual services such as foaling , weaning and sales preparations utilising large grow out paddocks resulting in strong boned and sound horses. Needless to point out ample irrigation is available for all the paddocks.

The Spelling and Pre-Training facilities incorporate state of the art training tracks, an 1800 meter sand track and a 2100 meter grass track the same size as Sydney's Randwick Racecourse.

"It is as good as any private training facility in the country," says long term Stud Manager Andrew Baddock.

Gooree can also provide mating advice on Stallions that will suit your mare and can cater for long term permanent and seasonal boarders .

Gooree is located just over 3 hours from Sydney and only 2 hours from the Hunter Valley and will walk out mares to all Studs in NSW.
