The progeny of former sale graduate Playing God dominated as figures surged during the Book Two component of the 2020 Magic Millions Perth Yearling Sale in the Swan Valley on Tuesday.
Playing God's former trainer Neville Parnham went to $140,000 to secure the day's top seller, the colt from Reillyanne from the draft of Mungrup Stud.
"They're really beautiful types," Parnham said of the Playing Gods. "The one I really loved was the Reillyanne - he was a great type and really replicated Playing God himself."
"I was underbidder on the brother to Platoon and while there wasn't a lot between them, I did actually think this one was the pick of his progeny," Parnham added.
Progeny by the multiple Kingston Town Classic winner filled three of the top four places on the Book Two top selling leaderboard.
"It's been a really fantastic sale," Mungrup Stud's Gray Williamson said. "And not just for us - but for the whole WA industry in general."
"To see the Playing God progeny so well received was fantastic. He's a former sale graduate and now his yearlings are proving popular in the sale ring."
The second six figure seller on the day was Mogumber Park's So You Think colt from Steps to Stardom who was knocked down to leading trainer Paul Jordan for $110,000.
Today's Book Two Sale returned a gross of over $3.9 million - up 66 per cent on last year's corresponding day. The average price of over $32,000 also soared over 44 per cent on 2019.
Across the two day sale over $13 million was traded at a clearance rate of over 82 per cent.
"We're delighted with today's sale," Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch said.
"It makes a lot of sense - vendors brought nice horses to the sale and the local buyers got in behind them and supported the Westspeed product and rightly so with the prizemoney that they can race for."
"With an overall sale gross of $13 million - up from $9.5 million last year - it's a really fantastic result," Bowditch added.
