Another Promising Deep Field Winner
Tara Madgwick - Thursday November 28

Bred to be a superstar being by Japanese sire sensation Deep Impact from former champion filly Alinghi, three year-old filly Reaching will have to wait for another day to break her maiden after chasing home Deep Field filly Ruby Tuesday at Wyong on Thursday.

Ruby Tuesday as a yearlingTrained by Gary Portelli, Ruby Tuesday was considered very unlucky when resuming for a fifth at Hawkesbury earlier in the month and atoned for that with a stylish length and a quarter win in the 1350 metre maiden.

She zoomed through along the fence for Tom Sherry, while Reaching finished strongly once clear for second and will no doubt have also pleased her connections .

An $82,500 Inglis Premier Book 2 purchase for Laurel Oak Bloodstock from the Morning Rise Stud draft, Ruby Tuesday is the third winner from US stakes-winner Dance to My Tune (Can), a daughter of Stravinsky.

Ruby Tuesday is the 29th winner this season for Newgate Farm’s Deep Field, who is the leading second season sire by winners and is also second by earnings
