New G3 Winner for No Nay Never

Exciting young Coolmore shuttler No Nay Never (USA) sired an impressive new two year-old stakes-winner in the UK overnight with Wichita taking out the Group III Tattersalls Stakes at Newmarket.

No Nay NeverThe Aidan O'Brien trained colt won on debut at the Curragh and then was second in a Listed race at Doncaster before stepping up a notch here to win this seven furlong contest by a commanding seven lengths for Ryan Moore.

"Wichita ran a nice race at Doncaster last time and looks to have moved forward from that. Ryan liked him and he got a nice tow into the race and was going away out of the Dip," said part-owner Paul Smith.

"He's had a rehearsal here now so could come back for the Dewhurst or there is the Vertem Futurity at Doncaster if we decide to step him up to a mile."

Purchased for 140,000 guineas at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale by Amanda Skiffington/MV Magnier, Wichita is the best of four winners from stakes-winner Lumiere Noire, a half0sister to Group I winner Desert Blanc.

He is the 17th stakes-winner for No Nay Never and is the fifth from his second crop.

Abrilliant Group I winning son of Scat Daddy, No Nay Never runs at 10.5% stakes-winners to runners so there is a high degree of expectation surrounding his first Australian two year-olds that will be running this season.

No Nay Never stands at Coolmore Australia this spring at a fee of $44,000.
