Sale-topping colt by SebringIn what has been another outstanding year of Inglis Select Yearling Sales:

*Inglis has cleared 85% of all yearlings offered, a higher rate than any other southern hemisphere auction house

*Inglis will again end the yearling sales season as southern hemisphere market leader for turnover, earning better financial results for vendors

*Inglis sold 19 of the 30 yearlings to sell for $1m or more in Australia, as well as the only two yearlings to sell for $2m or more

*Inglis graduates continue to dominate on the track, with 20 individual G1 winners for the 2018/19 season, compared to eight with our nearest Australian competitor, and remains the only southern hemisphere auction house to sell a G1-winning 2YO in almost two years.

Managing Director Mark Webster was delighted with the success of the past season.

"We had pre-empted the Classic Sale would experience a slight downturn given the huge hype and presence surrounding the 2018 sale which doubled as the opening of Riverside Stables, as well as the fact we opted to accept more than 1000 horses for our clients, but the sale was still very strong and gave us a great platform to launch off for the rest of the season,'' Webster said.

"Melbourne Premier, with the opening of our revamped Oaklands Junction facility was a great success and Easter was again the pinnacle and again proved itself as clearly the best yearling sale in this part of the world for vendors to sell their best horses.

"I would like to thank all the breeders, vendors and buyers who have supported our sales in 2019 and I look forward to selling the best yearlings our breeders have produced for 2020.''

Today's Scone sale was the last select yearling sale for 2019.

Widden Stud ended the day as leading vendor by aggregate, selling 18 of their 19 horses for a total of $378,500 while Ashleigh Thoroughbreds finished top by average (for three or more sales) at $35,000.

Leading buyer by individual lots was Keyhinge Toys Vietnam Joint Stock Company with six purchases while Laming Racing was leading spender.

The day's top lot was secured by Kristen Buchanan for $60,000, a Sebring x She's Due colt (lot 75, pictured), offered by Middlebrook Valley Lodge.
