Cornerstone Stud Support SA Racing

Media Release - Wednesday April 24

At Cornerstone we are very proud of our involvement within the South Australian Racing and Breeding scene for the last 60 years.

Sadly, over the past 18 months the South Australian Racing industry has been placed under severe financial pressure as a direct result of the State Governments "Point of Consumption Tax (POC)".

The South Australian racing industry is being marginalized and many of us are deeply concerned for the future of the participants that rely on the South Australian Racing Industry for an income.

As you may be aware Thoroughbred Racing South Australia (TRSA) has embarkedon a "call to arms campaign", labelled "Support SA Racing Jobs" as a direct response to the adverse impact POC Tax. The 'frequently asked questions' link below, is a great reference point to answer any questions you, or anyone you speak to, may have in relation to the POC tax, and how this is hurting racing in SA. https://www.supportsaracingjobs.com/faqs

Now more than ever we need to rally together and make our voice heard. We encourage you to engage with the campaign and implore our Government to provide our industry with a level playing field, so we can both sustain and grow our industry moving forward.

In particular it would be great if you could Like/Follow the campaign social media channels;

Thoroughbred Racing is campaigning to convince the state government to reduce the 15% POC tax which has led to a significant downturn in our industry, down to 10%.

However, it is very important that Members of Parliament also hear from as many individuals as possible. We encourage you to show your support by completing the form below, which will send a message to the Minister for Racing, the Hon Corey Wingard MP. https://www.supportsaracingjobs.com/get-involved

You can also contact the Minister for Racing and Treasurer directly at the below email addresses.

Now is the time to band together and have the industry's collective voices heard.
