French Imports Added to Godolphin Australia

Tara Madgwick - Monday February 4
James Cummings had had plenty of success this season with imported Godoolphin runners and will no doubt be looking forward to the arrival of fresh blood in the shape of two stakes performers from France sired by Darley stallions New Approach and Exceed and Excel.

Exceed adn Excel is the sire of Beau IdealCascadian and Beau Ideal are on their way to Australia after both being gelded at the end of last season.

Godolphin's French representative Lisa-Jane Graffard told Jour de Galop both horses look suited to continuing their careers in Australia.

"We've had good results with horses that we've sent there from 1400 to 1600 metres," Graffard said.

"There is a good program over this distance range in Australia with races carrying excellent prize money."

Cascadian is a four-year-old son of New Approach and won three of his six starts for Andre Fabre, also finishing runner-up in the Group I Prix Jean Prat over 1600m last year.

Beau Ideal is a four-year-old son of Exceed And Excel and was also prepared by Fabre, winning twice from six starts including the Listed Criterium de Vitesse over 1000m at Chantilly as a two-year-old.
