First Foals Divine - Prophet Delivers

Tara Madgwick - Friday August 17

One thing breeders agreed on last spring was that Aquis Farm's Divine Prophet was the best looking first season stallion to stand in the Hunter Valley. The first foals by the Group One Caulfield Guineas winner have now hit the ground and boy has this stallion delivered!

Divine Prophet filly from Kiss Me Goodbye. Georgina Lomax Photography.Verna Metcalfe of Middlebrook Valley Lodge has two of Divine Prophet's first foals on the ground and she was not short of praise for them; "I am delighted with both foals. Bit And Bop has good size and plenty of strength about her for a maiden foal. She is a replica of Divine Prophet as a foal [who was bred at Middlebrook].''

''Kiss Me Goodbye (image Georgina Lomax Photography) has also thrown a cracker. Big hip and correct in front. He has indeed thrown them just like himself.''

Divine Prophet has now returned to Aquis after standing the Northern Hemisphere season at Tara Stud in Ireland and he is as beautiful as ever.

The outstanding son of Choisir is again ready to fulfil breeders' prophecy's and judging by his first foals, Divine Prophet will again be amongst the most popular commercial stallions standing in the Hunter Valley, where he served 170 mares in his first season.

Kevin Drew of Ambergate Farm is also very impressed with his first Divine Prophet foal of the season out of the mare Toldyas; ''She is a cracker. Correct with a great hip and plenty of size and a lovely head. I have already discussed with the breeder about going back to Divine Prophet this season on the back of this effort.''

A winner and Group One placed at 2, Divine Prophet trained on at 3 to win the Group Three Up and Coming Stakes (beating Derryn, Thronum and Prized Icon) and the Group One Caulfield Guineas (beating Seaburge, Hey Doc and Impending).

Divine ProphetDivine Prophet is a stallion who has the pedigree to back up his stunning physique and racecourse performances – he is by the sprinting sire sensation Choisir, and out of the six-time winning Encosta de Lago mare Prophet Jewel. Divine Prophet is a full-brother to the Group One performer Proisir, who now stands at Rich Hill Stud in New Zealand, and his second dam sire is the great colonial speed source Centaine. Divine Prophet also hails from the same family as Champion Sire Blackfriars and the Champion 2YO and proven Group One sire Darci Brahma.

Aquis has supported Divine Prophet from the outset, and sent him 40 quality mares last spring. The horse has every chance to succeed at stud having also been heavily supported by his shareholders who include leading breeders Rothwell Park, Evergreen Stud, G1G Racing and Breeding, Peter O'Brien and Gilgai Stud.

The high regard in which Aquis holds this exciting young sire was further underscored by the support given to him in the sales ring, something which must be appreciated by breeders who increasingly see the support they give to stud farms not reciprocated when it comes to sales time.

Divine Prophet and Aquis delivered to his supporters in the sales ring when his first in-foal mares sold to $300,000, $200,000 (x2), $170,000, $140,000 etc in 2018. In total, 22 mares sold for an average of $78,000 to leading judges including; Twin Hills, Belmont Bloodstock, Rushton Park, James Bester, John Chalmers, Mark Pilkington, Michael Otto, and Bruce Perry.

In times where hype often gets the better of breeders who then forego horses with real stallion credentials, Divine Prophet stands out from the crowd. He turned heads when he raced, turned heads when he retired to stud, and now his first foals are turning heads.

With Divine Prophet, Aquis has fulfilled its prophecy to breeders and delivered. Don't miss out. Call one of our nominations team today; Jimmy Unwala (0488 217 875), Bernie Kane (0472 832 199), Paul Knight (0410 683 469) or Nick Taylor (0417 365 553).
