New Winner for Epaulette

Tara Madgwick - Friday June 29
Darley’s Epaulette added a fifth Australian winner to his tally on Friday with a Geelong victory for improving gelding Dulette.

EpauletteTrained by John McArdle, Dulette was having his second run back from a spell and led all the way to score a tenacious half head win over 1200 metres.

With a win and two placings from just four starts, Dulette is proving more than useful.

Bought by Musk Creek Farm at the Magic Millions National Weanling Sale from the Bhima Thoroughbreds draft for $110,000, he was withdrawn from sale as a yearling so was retained to race by Musk Creek in partnership.

He is the second winner for Davala, a winning Dalakhani mare closely related to European Dalakhani Group winners Shemima, Shemiyla and the Group I Grande Prix de Paris winner Shakeel.

Epaulette has done a good job with his first two year-olds this season who include Group III winner Khulaasa and stakes-winner Meryl.

The dual Group I winning son of Commands stands at a fee of $27,500 at Darley NSW.
