Group Two Winner for The Factor

Tara Madgwick - Monday April 9
Newgate Farm shuttler The Factor (USA) added an exciting new stakes-winner to his tally when four year-old entire Bound for Nowhere took out the Group II Shakertown Stakes at Keeneland on the weekend in a performance that may see him headed to Royal Ascot.

The FactorOwned and trained by Wesley Ward, the lightly raced speedster sizzled over the five and a half furlong sprint trip on turf to win by four lengths taking his overall record to four wins from six starts.

The win was a dominant one and may earn him another trip to Royal Ascot.

"I saw him when he was young, fell in love with him and bought him," said Wesley Ward.

"Hopefully...we'll go back to England to represent Keeneland and the United States, if he comes out of this good and sound, and hopefully get lucky."

Bound for Nowhere competed at Royal Ascot last year where he was fourth to Caravaggio in the Group I Commonwealth Cup.

Bound for Nowhere was a $310,000 Keeneland September Yearling purchase and is the best of six winners from Fancy Deed, a half-sister to Champion US Sprinter Midnight Lute.

He is the tenth stakes-winner for The Factor, who has covered nearly 400 mares in four seasons at Newgate.
