A flurry of recent winners for Newhaven Park's promising young sire Delago Deluxe has given a timely boost to his youngsters being offered at the 2018 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale starting this Saturday night.

Delago DeluxeDelago Deluxe has sired four winners in the past six weeks highlighted by the Tony McEvoy trained three year-old Scarecrow, who has won his past two starts at Gawler and Morphettville after finishing second on debut in June last year.

Fresh from having sold Group III ATC Canonbury Stakes winner Performer last weekend (read about him here) , Newhaven Park have a terrific draft of 17 for Inglis Classic including four by Delago Deluxe.

Lot 82 Filly Written Tycoon x At Ease, by Canny Lad – GOLD RIBAND SESSION



By one of the most improved sires in the country, and a leading source of stakes winners currently sitting in the top 10 sires in the country ahead of the likes of Exceed And Excel, Lonhro, Redoute's Choice and Savabeel to name a few.

With four G1 winners to his credit – Capitalist, Luna Rossa, the Dubai bound Music Magnate and the recently retired Tycoon Tara, he also has his exciting daughter Booker (G2 winner) who looks a leading prospect for the upcoming Melbourne carnival, having defeated both Catchy and Shoals at G2 level.

The filly is out of the Listed-winning Canny Lad mare At Ease, the dam of two winners from three to the races, her most recent two-year-old was exported and her three-year-old is unraced. At Ease was covered by Newhaven Park's first crop sire Xtravagant in the last breeding season.

Canny Lad as a broodmare sire has recorded over 133 stakes performers, led by 12 G1 winners highlighted by Redoute's Choice, Desert War, The Conglomerate, Gimmethegreenlight and Manhattan Rain to name a few, while the Written Tycoon x Canny Lad cross has had four winners from six runners.

Lot 101 Colt Not A Single Doubt x Faltonia, by Hussonet – GOLD RIBAND SESSION


By Not A Single Doubt, a consistent top ten sire who is the sire of 94 stakes performers, eight G1 winners including this season's Caulfield Guineas winner Mighty Boss, Blue Diamond winners Miracles of Life and Extreme Choice as well as the ever consistent stakes performer Single Gaze.

The colt is the second foal from the Hussonet mare Faltonia, a placed daughter of the G1 Doomben Cup winner Cinque Centro.
The High Chaparral 2yo was a $230,000 from the MM and has been named Faltonius and is owned by Te Akau Racing in the stable of Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards and is yet to race.

Hussonet as a broodmare sire has produced over 130 stakes performers with 13 G1 winners – of which four are Australian-bred and three of those are by Danehill-line stallions, while the Not A Single Doubt x Hussonet pedigree cross has had eight winners from just 12 runners, four are stakes performers led by G1 Blue Diamond and G1 AJ Moir Stakes winner Extreme Choice – an Inglis Classic sale graduate.

Colt Not A Single Doubt x Turf Fairy, by Encosta de Lago



Another cracking type by y Not A Single Doubt. Second foal out of the placed Encosta de Lago half-sister to dual G1-winning Champion 2YO Filly Fashions Afield, who is in turn the dam of Kiss And Make Up who covered 107 mares at his first season at stud.

The mare missed to Real Impact and was covered by Medaglia d'Oro in the latest breeding season.

The current 2yo from the mare, Greenskeeper is an unraced Redoute's Choice colt in the stable of Gary Portelli, purchased for $90,000 at Easter. It is the family of G3 winner Runway Star (Northern Meteor).

Encosta de Lago as a broodmare sire has produced over 130 stakes performers, 12 G1 winners including this season's Mighty Boss (Caulfield Guineas), Hasahalo (NZ One Thousand Guineas), as well as Peeping, Summer Passage, Invader, Impending and Happy Clapper to name a few, while the Not A Single Doubt x Encosta de Lago cross has eight winners from 20 runners with this season's G1 Caulfield Guineas winner Mighty Boss being the top runner.

Colt Delago Deluxe x Allow, by Rahy



By Delago Deluxe, whose oldest are three and he has produced 16 winners from 49 runners, out of the G1 Queensland Oaks winner Allow.

With four foals to race for three winners, Allow is one of six G1-winning mares to have a yearling in the sale, the only by Delago Deluxe.

Lounge, the Exceed And Excel daughter of Allow has been represented by the winning Delago Deluxe gelding Deluxe Rocker.

Rahy is the broodmare sire of over 290 stakes performers with 15 G1Ws including Giant's Causeway, Alverta, Declaration Of War and Kodiak Boy.

Colt Holy Roman Emperor (IRE) x Opulence Start, by Lonhro



By global sire Holy Roman Emperor – whose 134 stakes performers include G1W Mongolian Khan, Beauty Only, Sheidel, Rollout The Carpet and Designs On Rome, the colt is the second foal out of the 1000m-winning Lonhro mare Opulence and is a three-quarter brother-in-blood to G3W Octavia.

The first foal out of the mare, a filly by More Than Ready was sold at Easter to the Waterhouse/Bott stable for $85,000 and is still unnamed. The mare has a Dream Ahead colt weanling and was covered by American Pharoah.

From a family which includes numerous stakes winners both in Australia – Real Mal, Paklani, Jersey Lily, in South Africa – Stellite and Zirconeium (both G1Ws) and in New Zealand with LW True Valour. The colt is out of a Lonhro mare, just like 23 stakes performers including G2Ws Contessa Vanessa, Derryn, Gatting and Morton's Fork. The Danehill x Lonhro pedigree cross that this colt is bred on has produced 35 winners from 59 runners including G3W Serene Majesty.
